Smart Spaces
The Magee campus has an open access 802.11g wireless network for UU students. This project seeks to build on top of this by providing a context-aware application which would allow users to pick up digital notes left for them. Basically, a user could leave a note for a friend outside the MG building and the relevant recipient(s) would get the note when they pass by the MG building on a specified day/time etc.
This project would use a set of tools/technology such as GPS-based positioning systems (Note: i have GPS devices for loan), and peer-to-peer technologies such as Sun's JXTA.
The JXTA Toolkit can be downloaded from the JXTA site.
